Sunflower Diary

Day 5: I was beginning to think my plant was not going to grow,
but luckily there is finally some evidence of growth.

Day 7: Beginning to see more growth...
Day 13: My plant has grown a lot since the beginning...I am not sure if it will last long in this cup!
There is also signs of a second growth that may not be visible in this picture.
Day 21: Unfortunately one of my plants died so now I am left with this one;
hopefully it does not die as well!

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms interest me for their beauty and the perfect timing in which they bloom. I know that various places around the world host Cherry Blossom Festivals to celebrate their blooming. One such celebration is the Japanese tradition known as "Hanami" in which people have picnics while observing the Cherry Blossom blooms.

Place I Would Like to Study

I am interested in how the favelas affect the environment of Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas.
